Senior Mechanical Engineer
Summary/Objective
DANNAR, Inc., is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of a mobile, off-road energy platform that is the first in a new class of hybrid-electric work vehicles. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components. They also lead projects, supervise junior engineers, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Functions:

- Create engineering drawings, specifications, and schedules, including but not limited to designing fabricated structural parts; packaging electrical and hydraulic components; specifying and designing hydraulic systems, cooling systems, mechanical attachments, drive train components, electric motors for drive train and hydraulic systems; layout the cab ergonomics and controls.
- Perform functional analyses and engineering calculations
- Develop test plans and test products
- Lead projects, manage teams, and develop project plans
- Prepare technical reports, data sheets, and engineering drawings
- Interface with clients, staff, and other teams
- Guide and supervise junior engineers
- Ensure that projects meet requirements and apply thermodynamic principles
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Proficiency with MS Office, CAD, and knowledge of Solidworks
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Mechanical Engineers
- Interns
Work environment:
Office environment with occasionally being on the assembly floor. Required to wear PPE provided on the assembly floor as well as following current safety procedures.
Physical demands:
- Able to sit for long times.
- Must be able to maneuver around vehicle which includes climbing and bending.
Travel Required:
- Less than 10%
Required education and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- At least five years of industry experience
- Project management skills, including organization, time management, and budget planning
- Excellent communication skills
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license (optional but beneficial)
- Lean Six Sigma Training – Yellow belt minimum (can be obtained after hire)
Preferred education and experience:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Management
- 7+ years experience in a management role
- Proven management skills
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Work authorization/security clearance requirements:
Must be eligible to work in the United States
